In 2005, Dave Eggers, the author of 'A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius,' tapped Beck to write the foreword to his annual anthology 'The Best American Nonrequired Reading.' A year later, Beck returned the favour with 'The Horrible Fanfare/Landslide/Exoskeleton,' final cut from his 2006 album, 'The Informant.' The track features a discussion between Dave Eggers and legendary filmmaker Spike Jonze. The duo discuss illuminated manuscripts and space travel over a soundtrack of ambient noise to come off sounding like a couple of college kids after one too many bong hits.
