Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson Live Concerts Coming to DVD
With an eclectic lineup of some of the most iconic recording artists in history, 1983's US Festival in San Bernadino, Calif. was one of the most memorable music festivals of all time. The seven-day event included performances by U2, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, the Police and the Clash. June 4, 1983 was "Country Day," which saw sets by Alabama, Emmylou Harris, Hank Williams, Jr., Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. The latter two 'Highwaymen''s performances have now been immortalized on live DVDs, set to be released November 15 via Shout! Factory.
The concert videos, titled 'Willie Nelson Live at the US Festival' and 'Waylon Jennings Live at the US Festival,' include track lists totaling more than 45 of the two country legends' biggest hits. (See the full track listings below.) Both DVDs include Willie and Waylon singing together on the classic 'Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys' and 'Good Hearted Woman.' Waylon's wife Jessi Colter makes a cameo on his DVD for a duet on 'Storms Never Last.'
The US Festival was founded by Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak, in conjunction with a technology exposition and the construction of a new outdoor venue in the area.
