Tom Hofwander, 'Internal Dread' Dead: Swedish Reggae Producer Passes Away at Age 58
Tom Hofwander, a Swedish producer who worked under the stage name Internal Dread, died Monday while on tour in Denmark. He was 58.
According to the Jamaica Observer, Hofwander reported fell from a bus in Denmark while touring with Swedish pop and soul singer Veronica Maggio. Hofwander was working as an audio tech for the musician. Police at the scene believe Hofwander might have accidentally opened the rear door of the bus and subsequently fell out.
Best known for producing reggae hits, Hofwander also worked with Robyn, having produced the song "88 Days" from her 1999 album My Truth.
In her native tongue Maggio sent her thoughts and condolences out regarding Hofwander's death on her site and through Facebook.
Roughly translated, the message said: "It is with great sadness that I have to write to Tom Hofwander, our dear friend and colleague is gone. We miss him day and night and do not understand how that could happen. I and all of us who worked together on this tour have decided to make the remaining shows as scheduled but we want you who are there to know that nothing is as before. You can not pretend.
