Lollapalooza Assault: Man Punches 11-Year-Old Girl Over Beach Ball
Souvenirs are an important part of any trip, vacation or festival experience. However, there is a line between important and acting like a total maniac. On Sunday night at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, that line was crossed.
The Sun-Times reports that two 19-year-old boys attempted to cajole an 11-year-old girl and her 45-year-old mother out of their souvenir beach balls. When the threats didn't work, one of the men punched the girl in the stomach and stole the balls.
Luckily, the mother and daughter were able to flag down Chicago Police immediately after the incident and the men were quickly apprehended, still holding onto the stolen property. One was charged with misdemeanor counts of battery, assault and intoxication by a minor, while the other was nabbed for misdemeanor assault.
So, next time you're at a festival, heed this advice: Guard your souvenirs and avoid drunk 19-year-olds.
