Eyes Lips Eyes, 'Don't Blow It' -- Song Premiere

July 19th 2012 11:00AM

Marcello Ambriz

Eyes Lips Eyes are going to make your day. Originally hailing from Provo, Utah, ELE are like the only game in town out there, so they've developed an extremely unique take on dance rock that'll get you bumping in your favorite bar, car or ergonomic desk chair.

The band's new single "Don't Blow It" covers a lot of ground in its first 30 seconds. Lead singer Tony Hello sounds like Fred Schneider slamming poetry over a spazzed-out riff. It's like LCD Soundsystem and Talking Heads had a baby. Lots of influences, but totally original.

"The majority of the song was tracked in our warehouse in downtown Los Angeles, some of which was actually recorded during a big party we threw!" guitarist Spencer Peterson tells Spinner.

"Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, we started touring with our friends Kid Theodore (now Toy Bombs). On said tour, we crafted several 'rules' for our time together on the road, one being: 'Don't Blow It.' Most scenarios could be boiled down to whether or not you blew it."
