A star-studded, genre-crossing tribute to the late Kate McGarrigle will take place tonight at Toronto's Massey Hall as part of the Luminato festival.

Love Over and Over – The Songs of Kate McGarrigle will feature performances by her sister Anna McGarrigle, her children Martha and Rufus Wainwright as well as Emmylou Harris, Bruce Cockburn, Ron Sexsmith and Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew, Amy Millan and Andrew Whiteman.

Other performers include Jane Siberry, Peggy Seeger, Teddy Thomspon, Robert Charlebois and musicians who formerly performed with McGarrigle, who passed away in early 2010 from cancer. The concert will be hosted by CBC Q host Jian Ghomeshi.

"Love Over and Over is a celebration of the legacy of the McGarrigle sisters and Kate McGarrigle as a creator and a songwriter," Luminato's Music Curator Derek Andrews said about the concert on the festival site.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Kate McGarrigle fund which was created to fund additional research into sarcoma. In late 2010, a similar concert took place in London while a 2011 New York City tribute concert also featured Antony of Antony and the Johnsons.

In related news, CBC reports the city of Montreal will soon rename a public square in the late singer's honor. The location is currently known as Place Laurier near Laurier Ave. where McGarrigle lived in Montreal. Rufus Wainwright has reportedly commissioned a piece of art for the square.
