When you're listening to your iTunes on shuffle and it kicks out Interpol, the Bravery or She Wants Revenge, you probably have a hard time distinguishing between them, right? We don't mean to beat a 2006-era joke into the ground, but they all do sound kinda the same. Which is quite unlike their spiritual fathers, '70s British post-punkers Joy Division.
Now that's a band that still sounds unique to this day. Perhaps that's why Disney has gone so far as to cop Joy Division style for shirts, why there are Joy Division walking tours, or why former Joy Division bassist Peter Hook continues desperately selling himself on the back of the band's ghost.
