Dallas Green: City and Colour Singer 'Almost Got Into a Fight' at Blue Jays Game
Although no punches were thrown, City and Colour singer Dallas Green was involved in an altercation last night during the Toronto Blue Jays home opener at Rogers Centre against the Boston Red Sox.
"I was at the Jays' game last night," Green said on Toronto sports radio station The Fan 590 with Sid and Tim (Sid Seixeiro and Tim Micallef) this afternoon (listen here). "Just took it in, almost got into a fight."
According to Green, he was watching the game with his wife Leah Miller seated in the left field section when a drunken fan behind him started tooting his own horn, literally.
"I'm not going to a sports game to expect like complete silence," Green said. "But the guy was yelling constantly behind me and that's fine, too. At one point he said, 'Is my horn bothering you?' and I said, 'Yes.'
"He started to say 'I don't have any tattoos' and what does that mean? I don't have any idea," the musician continued. "But then he said, 'Well that's why you don't like me because I don't have any tattoos.' And then me and him kind of got yelling at each other and then a guy over from us started yelling at him, too."
Green, who told the fan, "I just want you to shut up and watch the game," said the man kept heckling Red Sox outfielder Cody Ross about his $3 million salary and chugging back beers.
"Then he Googled me and found out my name and so then he started calling me by name and then his girlfriend started yelling at my wife. It was just a wonderful experience for a home opener."
From there the fan was temporarily removed but later returned irritated
