The Oscar-winning duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross now have visuals to go along with their amazing cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song,' which features the wailing and screeching of Yeah Yeah Yeahs' frontwoman Karen O.
The track first appeared in the teaser trailer for the hotly anticipated 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' adaptation. Now, the fast-action, darkly stylized snippets of Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have been swapped for David Fincher's signature special effects, allegedly in the style of the film's opening credits.
What we see here is collage of video-fuzz-filtered abstractions, thrusting limbs, unfolding palms, metallic skin, blinking eyelashes, tangling computer cords and mercury-like eruptions of static-infused liquid. It's mysterious, but the cyberpunk motif seems like a tribute to the film's hacker heroine Lisbeth Salander.
After the international success of the original 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' the American adaptation of the violent Stieg Laarson crime mystery novel is gearing up for blockbuster success and will hit theaters on Dec. 21.
