As Spinner recently reported, Sly Stone, one of music's most famous recluses and perennially plagued drug users, is living in a camper van in Los Angeles, eating meals given to him by a retired couple whose house he lives outside. It's quite the change from four years ago, when he was living in a large Napa Valley compound. In a recent interview with Splash, Stone revealed that though he allegedly has plans to go to rehab, he did cocaine as recently as "a week and a half ago."

The singer, who once helmed Sly and the Family Stone, looked thoroughly out of it and still appeared hesitant about his decision to get clean. When questioned about his sobriety he responded, "Not like that kind of clean, but I get sleep at nights and the rest of the time I do my music."

Though still battling drug and alcohol problems, the singer has been able to continue work on his music, and though he is enthusiastic about writing he has not revealed any plans yet to release it.

"I'm going to park [the van] next door to this rehab facility and put my studio equipment in here," he explained. "And if there's no problem with my music and I'm not drinking beer or those kinds of things, or anything." "But if I wanted to have a beer...I won't do any cocaine."

Here's hoping he gets his act together.
