Brian Wilson will walk away from next week's NXNE festival in Toronto with a Lifetime Achievement award. The master musician and Beach Boys founder is an obvious choice for the prize and has the distinction of being the first person honoured with the newly minted award.

And the good news with awards like this is they always come with a ceremony, which means, yes, Wilson will be on hand in Toronto on June 16 for those fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the luminary behind golden hits such as 'Good Vibrations,' 'I Get Around' and 'Help Me Rhonda.'

The soiree for the eldest Wilson brother kicks off at 6:15PM ET at the Hyatt Regency hotel with host Canadian singer-songwriter Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo.

The ceremony is open to the public but NXNE pass holders will receive priority entry to the free event. Chances are good that most of these pass holders will be camped out in front, too, since the first 50 NXNE pass/wristband holders to arrive will be admitted via the rush line to Wilson's June 18 concert at Massey Hall, a stop on his first-ever cross-Canada tour in support of last year's 'Brian Wilson Reimagines George Gershwin.'
