Duran Duran Cancel UK Tour Over Simon Le Bon's Throat Problems
Duran Duran have been forced to cancel the remaining dates of their UK tour while singer Simon Le Bon is treated for an ongoing throat problem.
The band had been taking things one day at a time in the hope that the singer's voice would make a recovery, but now doctors have recommended that he "hold off for about another week." Earlier, the band had to pull dates in Newcastle and Glasgow because of his problems.
As a result, the band's forthcoming shows in Bournemouth, Cardiff, Manchester and Sheffield have been pulled, but the group have advised fans to hold on to their tickets while new dates are scheduled.
Writing on the band's official website, Le Bon said, "I know how difficult this has been for all of the fans, as we've been postponing shows with very little notice, in the hope each day that the improvement would have been significant enough for me to sing again without risking any long-term damage."
He added: "I am now focusing on getting back for Berlin -- which is on June 8th."
