With Montreal music lovers abuzz with how they will squeeze all that Osheaga Festival is offering over its three days this July, the fall is already starting to come together with Pop Montreal's initial "sneak peek" lineup for its special 10th edition, Sept. 21-25.

According to a press release from organizers (via Exclaim) today (May 31), Redd Kross, Chromeo, Japandroids and Tahiti 80 are among the 20 acts so far announced. Other groups include Chicago drone rockers Cave, Purity Ring and the tersely named Gary Lucas' Captain Beefheart Symposium.

"Let's get ready to rawk a 10th anniversary party like the world ended while the sun kept shining and everybody could eat tacos til 5am," the press release says. "WOOHOO!"

Since the "real" rapture apparently takes place on October 21 (for the time being at least), the folks at Pop Montreal can make all the playful Armageddon jokes they want. It's their friends over at Halifax Pop Explosion that have to worry since their festival runs right through Doomsday. All the more reason to get wild at in Montreal then we suppose.

Pop Montreal also announced several other portions of the overall event with a Film Pop, Kids Pop, Art Pop and a craft fair dubbed Puces Pop now on the schedule.

Of course with some 300 acts slated, additional bands will be announced over the coming weeks and months. Festival passes go on sale Thursday (June 2) with early bird packages starting at $250 CA plus taxes.
