A very credible counterpart and complement to October's Halifax Pop Explosion, Long Live the Queen is a music (and arts) festival which is organized by the artists themselves. Situated around a few square blocks in the city's North End, Long Live the Queen started last year with approximately 40 performers such as Julie Doiron and the Luyas. Literary readings, comedy performances and even yard sales make up unique portions of the four-day Victoria Day long weekend event.
