Eminem, Death Cab for Cutie and Flaming Lips to Play Montreal's Osheaga Festival
Eminem, Death Cab for Cutie and the Flaming Lips are some of the bigger names confirmed for this year's Osheaga Music and Arts Festival set for Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau July 29-31, marking the first time the festival will be a three-day event.
Organizers announced the 54-act lineup via a series of midnight Twitter and Facebook posts as well as on the official festival site. Though tidbits leaked moments beforehand via Twitter, including the fact the Flaming Lips will be performing their 1999 album, 'The Soft Bulletin' in its entirety as part of their performance. The daily lineup will be announced on April 19.
Other acts confirmed include Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Bright Eyes, City and Colour, the Tragically Hip, Death From Above 1979, Kid Cudi, Tokyo Police Club, Crystal Castles, F---ed Up and Twin Shadow, among others. A complete list can be found at the festival's official site.
Although no lineup was announced beforehand, festival organizers confirmed Death From Above 1979 and Eels would be appearing at the event last week via Twitter.
Tickets for a special three-day festival pass go on sale Friday at noon for $197.50 (CA), with reserved seating access priced at $349.50 (CA). Additional single-day and two-day classic passes go on sale on April 21.
Last year's festival featured headliners Weezer and Arcade Fire with acts like the National, Pavement, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Metric, Devo and Sonic Youth also on the bill.
