Karkwa Wins Francophone Album of the Year at Juno Awards
Quebec rockers Karkwa can add another trophy to their collection after walking away with Francophone Album of the Year at the Juno gala and award dinner tonight (March 26) in Toronto.
When their album 'Les Chemins de Verre' unexpectedly nabbed the Polaris Prize last September music lovers took notice of the relatively unknown Radiohead-esque quartet, and this Juno honour will only push them farther into the Anglo spotlight.
"It means a lot for us because we are representing the Francophone community of Quebec and Canada," the band told the media following their acceptance speech.
"We are proud to be here."
