Sean Bones, 'Let's Do Something Else' -- Video Premiere

July 7th 2010 10:50AM

For the latest Sean Bones video, prepare to be hypnotized by grown men and women, in uniform, spinning out of control as they zoom down one of the most crooked streets in America -- on tricycles. And, indeed, for its duration you'll be so engrossed in this silly San Franciscan street race that you won't remember whatever it is that you're probably better off not remembering. As the title of the song says, 'Let's Do Something Else.'

"This song is my 'control-alt-delete' button," Bones tells Spinner. "It's about pushing forward, even messing s--- up, just to start again. I have a friend who asks herself too many big questions and, at the end of the day, she's wiped out. I was trying to distract her from that, and myself too, probably. Having a band is so important to me because I get to calm myself down this way."

Bones just wrapped up a tour with Dr. Dog in which he got to calm himself down on a nightly basis. This track, meanwhile, represents half of the two-song single, 'Rhumba Beat,' which dropped back in April. It's sunny escapism at its finest and the video, directed by Patrick Lawler, serves as visual reinforcement of this notion. "The video Patrick made is a good compliment," agrees Bones. "It's a bunch of people doing a similar thing -- letting go and having fun in a loud and dangerous way." Check it out below and leave your worries behind -- for three minutes and 36 seconds, anyway.
