Austin City Limits 2010 Lineup Includes Phish, Muse and the Eagles
So far, 2010 has been an outstanding year for festival lineups as well as ticket sales, with established events such as Coachella and Sasquatch selling out in advance and breaking all kinds of attendance records. The always-reputable Austin City Limits (ACL) festival took things up a notch recently when the event sold out of three-day passes in one day...without so much as announcing a single band. ACL 2010 takes place in Austin's Zilker Park on October 8-10.
Music fans that took the gamble and bought passes can now pat themselves on the back. Phish (pictured) will headline Friday, while Muse will anchor Saturday and the Eagles take Sunday. The remaining marquee acts are the Strokes, M.I.A., Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, Vampire Weekend and Norah Jones. Other acts in the class of 2010 include Monsters of Folk, Band of Horses, the National, Broken Bells, the xx, Sonic Youth, Yeasayer and Gogol Bordello.
As always, ACL will host its share of singer-songwriters. This year's list is topped by Devendra Banhart, Pete Yorn, Robert Earl Keen, Richard Thompson and Martin Sexton. In keeping with its own tradition, the event will also welcome first-year indie darlings such as Miike Snow, Beach House, Girls and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
