ZZ Top Announce Benefit for Chile Earthquake Victims
ZZ Top will perform a benefit gig for last month's earthquake victims of Santiago, Chile. Frontman Billy Gibbons announced the show -- slated for the Chilean city's Movistar Arena on May 18 -- in a video he delivered in Spanish on the band's official website.
"The whole world knows about the effects caused by the earthquake that happened in your beautiful country," Gibbons' said in a statement translated here. "We know that the Chilean spirit can never be broken and that right now it is stronger than ever. We hope that you can join us for a special night."
In related news, ZZ Top has just announced a run of tour dates for North America, beginning on April 29 at Sun Fest in West Palm Beach, Florida. Confirmed shows for the band behind 'Legs' and 'Sharp Dressed Man' can be found here.
