Lars Ulrich addressed the negative reaction many Metallica fans had for the sank-like-a-stone Lulu album with Lou Reed. "It was more spiteful than anyone was prepared for," the drummer said. "Especially against Lou. He is such a sweet man. But when Metallica do impulsive riffing and Lou Reed is reciting abstract poetry about German bohemians from 150 years ago, it can be difficult to embrace." He also talks about the Orion Music + More Fest. Read it! [Spin]

German thrashers Destruction will embark on their 30th anniversary tour this weekend, with Vital Remains, Warbringer and Pathology in tow. Three decades of Teutonic rock? Oh yes! Frontman and bassist Schmier said the tour is "a killer package for old school thrash and death metal freaks! This may be the best set list we've ever had – the essence of thrash metal history united with our new anthems. We'll have more classics than ever in the set, more from the first records for sure." U.K. rockers Biffy Clyro will release their sixth album, a double LP, at the end of the summer. One is titled The Land At the End of Our Toes while the other is The Sand at the Core of Our Bones. They recorded the album in Los Angeles. A double LP is ambitious. We can't wait to hear it. [NME]
