Heavy Metal Karaoke Kicks Off This January in Hollywood
Calling all shower and car singers! Starting Jan. 12, 2010, Hollywood's first real Heavy Metal Karaoke gives the average metal fan a chance at super stardom. The event, which will be hosted by Phil Varone of Skid Row and Saigon Kick fame, operates like normal karaoke. Only instead of singing in time with a vocal track, participants will belt 'em out in front of professional touring musicians from some of the most prolific and loved metal bands of all time!
The house band features Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Cryptic Slaughter) on bass, Tommy Victor (Prong, Danzig, Ministry) on guitar, Tommy Clufetos (Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent) on drums. But don't let those pedigrees deter or intimidate you. These dudes want you to get up on stage with them and sing your ass off! There will be a designated singer registration at each event that will feature a song list to choose from, including classics from Black Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest, Slayer, Pantera and Iron Maiden, as well as many others.
Blasko told Noisecreep, "Heavy Metal Karaoke was spawned from a few late-night, booze-filled brainstorm sessions. We all play others people's music for a living already, so why not take it a step further? Let's face it, we just wanna have fun, and we want all our friends and fans to have fun with us! Heavy Metal Karaoke is more than a band, it's a f---ing party, and everyone is invited and encouraged to be a part of the madness!"
