As we have learned during the London Games, Olympians love musicians and musicians love Olympians!
Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift engaged in Twitter exchanges with their favorite U.S. gold medalists, while rapper Paul Wall designed a custom grill for U.S. swimming champ Ryan Lochte to wear on the podium. And when Coldplay's Chris Martin flubbed the lyrics to one of the band's songs at a recent concert, he told the audience it was because he was distracted by thoughts of Olympic pole vaulting!
Now, a home video of Australian Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham covering Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" while strumming on a ukulele has gone viral.
"I profess to be neither a great instrumentalist nor singer," the Aussie athlete wrote in the YouTube video's accompanying message. "I'm just an Olympic diver who likes to strum away in his spare time. I think this is where I am supposed to credit Beyonce or something ..." Check out Mitcham's Queen B cover below!
