Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise Katie Holmes Divorce: 'Just Like Marc and I'
Apparently, Jennifer Lopez feels for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. The singer is speaking up about her reaction to the split heard 'round the world, and actually has a lot of opinions on the matter.
J.Lo, who parted ways with her own husband of seven years, Marc Anthony, this time last year (July 2011) told "Entertainment Tonight," "I'm sad for them." "I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned," she confessed, adding that she hasn't reached out to either Tom or Katie, but has "thought about it a lot."
Lopez went on to compare TomKat's divorce to the unraveling of her own marriage, saying, "They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can't anymore."
The mother of 3-year-old twins Max and Emme also revealed she empathized with Katie on the whole single mom thing. "I just wish them peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family. It's not just Suri. It's Connor and Isabella and everybody, you know, you all become a family," Lopez said, commenting on how the divorce may negatively affect the couple's 6-year-old daughter Suri and Tom's two older children whom he adopted with then-wife Nicole Kidman.
"When that breaks apart, nobody wins, everybody's heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace," J.Lo said.
