It's only been four weeks since Jessica Simpson gave birth to her nearly 10-pound baby, Maxwell Drew -- but the singer is already plotting her post-pregnancy slim-down! Acknowledging her past penchant for fad and yo-yo dieting, the new Weight Watchers spokesperson revealed her plans to start making healthier lifestyle choices that she can maintain long term.
"I think anybody who's gone through a pregnancy, after they have the baby, it's like, 'I need to do something about this,'" she told PEOPLE. "For me, I really want to do something that is a lifestyle, because in the past, I've been known to yo-yo diet."
But apparently, Simpson was already set on slimming down -- she actually signed her reported $4 million deal with Weight Watchers before she found out she was pregnant! Of course, the diet plan wen out the window when she found out she got the big baby news. "I was like, 'I'm going to enjoy my pregnancy,' and I did," Jess confessed. "I ate very healthy, but I did indulge some of my cravings -- and that's okay because I know I can work it off now."
But when it comes to shedding the baby weight, Jessica won't measure her success by the number on the scale. "There's not a goal weight -- I just want to feel normal and not fixate on inches," she said. "I really want to set small goals, so I'm constantly reaching goals and not looking at something so far ahead."
