Jenna Ushkowitz, Lady Gaga: 'Marry the Night' Video Cameo Brought on by Chance Double Date
In case you missed it, "Glee" star Jenna Ushkowitz has a role in Lady Gaga's latest music video, "Marry the Night." The actress/singer, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the hit musical show, has revealed that she nailed the coveted cameo thanks to their mutual love of "Vampire Diaries" actors! Jenna told Wendy Williams all about the chance encounter with the pop star, who "Glee" has paid tribute to in multiple episodes.
Ushkowitz was on set of "The Vampire Diaries" visiting her actor boyfriend Michael Trevino, when she bumped into Gaga who was visiting her then-boyfriend, Trevino's co-star Taylor Kinney. Jenna told Wendy. "She had like a nice weave in. And she used my comb, too! And I'm like, 'I'm never using this again!' She is awesome. She is super cool," Jenna gushed.
The ladies hit it off and became pals, before Gaga extended the video cameo offer! "We ended up hanging out. We went to a [Atlanta] Braves [baseball] game together," Jenna said. "Two weeks later, she got in touch with my agent. She was like, 'Can you do me this favor and can you come be in my music video?' I was like, 'I think so!'"
Jenna plays Gaga's best friend in the extended "Marry the Night" clip, and helps the fragile performer after she's been released from a mental institution. Unfortunately, the pals probably won't be having any more double dates in the near future. While Jenna is still going strong with Trevino, Gaga split with Kinney last month (April).
