Katy Perry, Russell Brand: Moving Vans Arrive, Brand 'Uninvited' to People's Choice Awards
It looks like Katy Perry and Russell Brand aren't wasting any time going their separate ways following the announcement of their split. After Brand released an official statement that the couple was calling it quits on Dec. 30, just five days later (Jan. 4), moving vans were spotted outside the couple's Hollywood Hills mansion.
Paparazzi cameras caught two large moving vans at Katy and Russell's seven-bedroom, three-story home, which they purchased for $6.5 million in June. It remains unclear if one of the twosome is moving out, or if both Katy and Russell are leaving the home behind. One thing is for sure, however -- the celeb couple is definitely moving on -- literally.
In other Katy and Russell news, yesterday it was announced that Katy will make her first post-split public appearance at next week's (Jan. 11) People's Choice Awards, where she is nominated for five awards. Now, organizers of the awards show have reportedly uninvited Brand in a bid to avoid drama.
A source told U.K.'s The Mirror, "It will be Katy's big night, a prelude to the Grammys, and now Russell has been strangely left off the list of attendees for the high-profile event. It was always going to be awkward for organizers in any case after their shock decision to split." The source continued, "But in order to avoid any awkwardness or confrontation Russ is no longer on the list."
But there may be one good thing that comes out of Katy's heartbreak -- new hit songs! The singer-songwriter has been making music during this tough time as a type of therapy. A source told The Sun, "Ever since problems started to emerge, she penned her thoughts in a diary which she goes back to to draw upon for lyrics
