9-year-old gives her birthday presents to the homeless

A 9-year-old girl from Chicago is capturing hearts around the world after a photo posted by her cousin to Facebook has gone viral.

Aris Billingsley posted a picture of her cousin, Harmony, accompanied by a brief explanation. The photo shows Harmony praying with a homeless man, and the caption explains that Harmony didn't want a new toy for her birthday. Instead, she wanted family and friends to give her items that she could donate to a local homeless shelter.

"She was ask [sic] what she wanted for her birthday and her request was for the whole family to show up but buy gifts for her to give to the Homeless!!" wrote Billingsley. "So she went to the homeless shelter and passed out gifts and money!!"

The picture has garnered 216 likes and has been shared over 10,500 times since Billingsley first shared it on April 27.

"I just thought I'll share the photo with you guys because it touched me as she touched the man bending over crying!"
